I always imagined the day I would hold my son in my arms, show him to his grandparents who wait to see his little face, and see a strong and healthy baby. But when my son arrived at just 31 weeks, weighing only 1.1 kg, that dream turned into fear overnight.
Instead of hearing his loud cries, I saw him lying inside an incubator, surrounded by machines, fighting silently for every breath. The doctors told us he has Respiratory Distress Syndrome, and his tiny body isn’t ready for the world since he was extremely premature. He struggles to feed, struggles to breathe… struggles to survive.
Every day, I stand outside the NICU at Yashoda Hospital, watching through the glass, wishing I could take his pain away. But all I can do is wait… and hope.
“He is so tiny, yet so strong… I just pray he grows up healthy.” - Mother.
We have already spent more than ₹9 lakhs, everything we had, even our saving have been used up. I am the only earning member in my family, and now we have nothing left. But his treatment must continue for the next 5–6 weeks. For him, every single day is critical.
As a father, it breaks me to feel so helpless when my child needs me the most.
All I want is a chance to bring my baby home, to hold him without wires, to see him live a normal life.
